The Later Squared Bag Pattern by Amanda Anderson of Mandy Andy Designs includes the instructions to create your very own quilt inspired large travel bag. The name of the pattern comes from what she imagined you would say when you were leaving in the 80s and 90s when she was growing up and fits right in with her other quilt pattern names.
Originally her mom wanted Amanda to create a bag pattern that she could use as an overnight (or two) bag and would be sturdy enough to basically use in place of a drawer. Amanda wanted a bag pattern that was different, showcasing a mini quilt on each side of your bag, uninterrupted by pockets or zippers or straps and was big enough to hold an entire quilt with ease.
Pattern is best for intermediate sewists and is helpful if you have made a quilt and bag before. However, instructions are detailed and would be appropriate for Confident beginners.
Finished bag measurements: 15″ tall by 15″ wide by 10″ deep. It’s a rather large and roomy bag.
